I am looking to find out the title of the "OPENER" of Avatar's Show. It was a russian-style song. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Were they wearing burgundy or white that year?

In '84 (burgundy) Avatar used "Carmina Burana", "Coolies Victory Dance" from "Red Poppy" and "Going to Another Place" by Mannheim Steamroller.

In '85 (burgundy) Avatar used "Fourth Door" by Mannheim Steamroller, "To Thornfield" from Jane Eyre, "Symphony No. 1 in D Minor" by Rachmaninov and "Going to Another Place" by Mannheim Steamroller.

In '86 (white) they used "Piano Concerto No. 1" from Emerson Lake and Palmer. I think that may be the "opener" you're looking for.

Actually they were in the burgundy uniform with the gold half moons in their show. That's been quite awhile ago and the memory is slowly fading. Thank You very much for the info.

We called the half moons "sickles". Painful piece of equipment! Not the easiest piece to spin. I still have one and still throw it once in awhile.
