McClatchy High School's "Mane Event III" Winter Guard and Percussion Show

Friday March 12th

McClatchy High School Gymnasium
3066 Freeport Blvd.
Sacramento, CA 95818

5 p.m. start, $85 per unit to register for the show.

Spectator prices will be announced soon.

The format will once again feature a clinic following be each group's performance. the clinic is discussion with the judges immediately following the performances for staff and performing members. This show is independent of any circuit. Judges are all experienced judges with experience in NCBA, CCGC, and/or WGI and have extensive experience and current understanding of trends/styles in the activity.

This is a great show to just come and watch. The McClatchy gymnasium has a steep and high vantage point for the audience. The acoustics are very good. There is no seating in the backcourt, EVERYONE gets a seat up in front. The performance order is guard/percussion units alternating at 10 minute intervals. The food is great, serving food from local venders as well as the McClatchy Music Boosters.

Is this show scholastic only or are independent groups performing as well?

Im happy to say that we are NOT doing the Vallejo show this year and instead will be attending this show. Im looking forward to it!

The show is open to scholastic and independent groups.

Psst. Instructors. If you are anything like me, you look forward to the director's lounge. For the past two years, there has been AMAZING food, and a Wii and Rock Band set up. This is the show to go to!

I heard the food was good last year. Somehow we always miss out on directors lounge food since it seems like we're always busy elsewhere. I'll have to make an effort at this one

The guard judges for the Mane Event this year are Greg Mar, Rena Mathiesen (Quicho), and Marcus Mills.

Every participating unit will receive a 10 minute clinic/critique with the judges immediately following the performance.
