thanks for posting!

Anyone know why MIT Academy MS is not on the schedule? Their HS guard is... Is this a mistake?

There is a way around that. The champs line up is done by post mark. Get your entries in early, and later time slot for you! I know some schools that hand over a check at the June meeting! 8-)

I tell my kids this every year, and every year it takes them too long to get the fundraising money in so we can pay the fees. After my first two years I told the color guard they need to be fundraising too because I'm not letting the band pay for winterguard competitions anymore. They all had the opportunity to fundraiser, but they were lazy and didn't do squat. That has earned us the first spot for every competition we've ever been in for the last four years in NCBA. I REALLY hope that changes next year! We'll see if yet another round of threats and reminding them of performance order works next time.

Does anyone know what time middle school awards are? I thought I saw a break around 12:00 a few days ago, but now it's not there.

The first few shows of the season, judges evaluate the groups to make sure they are placed in the appropriate division. A discussion then happens between Rowland, possibly a few judges, and the instructor, to discuss why a group should move. I BELIEVE, that ultimately the decision rests with the instructor, unless it's clear that an instructor is just trying to completely blow a division out of the water by putting, say, a scholastic level group in Novice A.

JoJo probably knows more about how it happens...maybe she can weigh in on the the details here.
