Blue Devils

Post by nycke » Mon Mar 02, 2009 3:21 pm

My name is Angela, I am a student at DVC and I just join the Blue Devils "B" corps color guard, but as a college student I need a little help from sponsors. Could anyone here give me some ideas on how to go about that?
Thanks!

Send sponsorship letters out to friends and family telling them what you're doing, how much it means to you, and to ask them to donate whatever they can, even if it is only $10.
Mt. Carmel High School Marching Sundevils- 2004-2008
UC Los Angeles "The Solid Gold Sound"- 2008-2010
Alternative Percussion 2008-2010

As a drum corps alum I've received a handful of sponsorship letters over the years and I can tell you they're very appealing and it's almost impossible to say no to these kids. Their photo in their uniform gets me everytime.

If I were you I'd find out if BD allows you to approach their alums. If they do that's literally thousands of opportunities and at even as little as $5 to $10 a pop it could really make a dent in your fees.
