Judge/Instructor Conversation-from "Rodriguez Show"

Post by oreocookis » Thu Jan 29, 2009 8:46 am

If it were me and I had a WG... I wouldnt rush to have a completed show by Rodriguez, I would just work and clean what I have and then from there finish the show. I don't recall ever having an unfinished show but I usually never competed until March anyhow. What ever your decision good luck!

I've done both and have discovered that it's really true what they say about only having one chance to make a first impression.

A less-than-great first performance can haunt you all season no matter how competitive you are in the end.

I prefer to go out and blow their hair back with a really strong performance of what we have so far and make a definite statement that we're in it to win it, we're just not complete yet ... and leave 'em looking forward to next time.

Thanks for the feedback. Im sort of leaning against leaving it as is. Although im not sure the other 2 instructors are on board. Im going to see how next week rehearsals go. We're also planning for a weekend rehearsal and some extra sectionals. If it isnt completed by the week of then we'll find a good cut off point and leave it. The show right now isnt perfect but clean enough for Rodriguez. I guess we'll wait and see.

Yeah. We have some holes too. But we are going to clean clean clean these next two weeks and go out with what we have. We have two more weeks until Fairfield to fill holes and make some needed changes.

The count down begins. 13 days left.

Anyone have a clue to who is on the panel?

We might actually finish! It will be a miracle but im crossing my fingers.

Good question about panel. I wish i knew but im going to assume its the regulars, maybe Fiona or Kathy... i dont know. Hopefully someone good :)

I wish i could see a line up now. Or at least times for when the whole thing is supposed to start and end.

13 days.... oy..

Well, we didn't get moved to Open. We signed up for Open and will allow the judges to decide from there.

That was the most frustrating thing. Trying to figure out what class to sign up for! Ugh.

The only thing that sucks is that I won't get to see the Scholastic guards! :(

It has you guys placed in Open on the line up. Is that just for this show then? Im sure you guys will do great and remain there.

Hopefully some one takes video so we can all see the other guards

Thanks for posting that. I knew the times were a little different for us.
I like it that we're almost the last group. Awesome!
