Just an observation

I was looking through some videos and I noticed that the drum major world is pretty much dominated by guys. There aren't many girls present in drum majoring. Is this because guys simply look better in uniform and have the muscle to spin maces and batons? or because girls just aren't interested? It really surprised me when I noticed it...
