Scottish Style Drum Major internship - NorCal

Post by polson8568 » Sat Nov 16, 2013 11:32 am

The Stewart Tartan Pipes & Drums is offering Scottish Drum Major internships. Candidates from high school, middle school, or the piping community are welcome. Interns will be instructed in proper British drill, dress, and deportment. Interns may participate in parades and select performances. This is an ideal opportunity for students preparing for High School Drum Major auditions.

Tuition provided by Paul Olson. Paul was Drum Major of the Leigh HS Band in 1976, San Jose State Marching Band 1981, and has been the Sr. Drum Major of the Stewart Tartan Pipes & Drums since 1993. He has competed in both military baton and Scottish mace. He is a co-founder and current president of the Regimental Drum Major Association.

The Stewart Tartan Pipes & Drums holds rehearsals at St Andrews Episcopal Church in Saratoga on Tuesday evenings.

For all of you skeptics out there, Paul is the real deal. If you're serious about learning how to be a Scottish drum major, you don't want to miss this opportunity! One of the best high school drum majors currently competing in Northern California studied under Paul. He comes highly recommended.
