Need Help--Scottish Drum Major Lessons?

WHAT?!?!? Ryan H. Turner needs Scottish Drum Major lessons? Noooooooooooooo noooooooooooo noooooooooooo!!! Not me. But the newly installed drum major for the Orange County Fire Authority Pipes and Drums is needing some assistance.

I need to know who, in the Irvine, California area that is a LEGITIMATE instructor and would be willing to work with an ADULT drum major who has a great musical background (former tuba player for the Shamrock Regiment in the Days of The Zigmant!), and REALLY wants to learn the correct commands--especially mace and whistle commands (apparently there's a whole lexicon of things Scottish DM's do). The OCFA Pipes and Drums are a HIGHLY regarded ensemble in the world of pipes and drums, and proudlly represents the OCFA literally around the world, including appearances in the Tournament of Roses Parade.

If anyone is interested, please forward me a brief explanation of your qualifications, availability over the next 2 months, and how much you charge...send to RYANHTURNER@ATT.NET so that I can arrange with you and the DM student?

I would greatly appreciate it. RYANHTURNER@ATT.NET and make it snappy...I was supposed to do this last week!

May I suggest either Brennan England or Preston Sheppard. Brennan is on here fairly regularly. You could reach him via a PM. I am sure if Brennan is unable, then he would have Preston's number.

Also, Ben Schroeder is in the OC and might be available. In my opinion, he was the greatest Scottish DM I have ever seen.

I'd also like to suggest Rocky Ehrich of the Caber Feidh Pipe Band. He's an instructor with the World Drum Major Association and actually placed in the final of the World Drum Major Championships this last August in Glasgow, Scotland. I believe he lives in Azusa, and he teaches regularly in the LA area, if I'm not mistaken.
