Most Memorable L-Patterns
Most Memorable L-Patterns
I know that there was a topic for the most embarassing L-Patterns, but let's change the subject a bit. Anyone out there got any drum majors in mind that you feel had the most memorable L-Patterns around?

2006 Military Masters State Champion Jennifer Tran. This was State 2007, she was the final competitor of the day.
It was memorable because of a few things:
-Montebello HS haven't had a drum major use the busbee at the state championships for approximately 6 years or so. Jen wanted to do something different from everyone else at the comp, so she wore the "classic" Montebello DM uniform.
-The atmosphere was of everyone at awe of the sight of Jen. I guess it's been a while since they have seen a drum major in a FULL uniform.
-She proved that you can still do the difficult tricks of this generation of DM's, while donning a classic uniform.

I wasn't there for this one, but I just think the opener's really cool that it gets stuck in your mind.

Hmm...
2007 I believe... Memory lapses.. sorry
Fairfax L-Pattern
All the competitors in Military Mastes dropped. I swear it was jynxed! j/k
The whole 2006 Lpattern season, All Montebello DMs making it to state and while at state, Brittany Martinez didnt know she placed so ran to receive her award in flip-flops (if you look in the picture, you can see her hiding her feet)
2005 RBV L-Pattern
Jose Carmona stuffed 30 grapes in his mouth and it was announced on the speakers.
That's all I can think of for now... but I could.... make a long list. but to sum it all up,
Every L-pattern has it's own memorable moment (little or big)

Here's an awkward one. I think it was in 2006 at Arcadia. I dropped twice in Open division during my performance (bad day, will talk about it later), and during the awards ceremony they called me up to receive the Sweepstakes award for the day (BIG trophy).
Unusual because everyone saw the performance, Manuel Castaneda took 1st in my division, yet they awarded it to me. Awkward because of the silence and the looks that everyone had when the award was announced
Clarification: Arcadia awarded Sweepstakes to the school that had the highest averaged score for the day. Manuel would have received it, but he'd signed up as an Independent as opposed to my signing up as a representative Alumni from Rowland. Also, since we were solo competitors, we had the higher averaged scores.
I think that was fairly memorable for the people that was there.
