bonding exercises anyone???
Our section leaders had a meeting today and we want to try something new at band camp. We want to do bonding exercises. We were thinking about things like having a casual dance/extrava-band-za and maybe after one practice have a water balloon fight.
These are great ideas, but don't necessarily pertain to bonding exercises. My question is does anyone have any ideas for bonding exercises that we could use during our band camp session????

Have everyone stand in a big circle, have them turn to the person to the right of them.. Sit on each other, and move around!

stand in a circle, pick a middle, and lift the person throughout the circle :] haven't tried this. thought it could be a good idea!

One year we played games like red rover and capture the flag (which was actually a drumstick...) and that was loads of fun. We'd work for a few hours on basics or whatever and then split into random teams so that people were all mixed up and could meet each other.
THIS is why we do what we do.

I say, it would be a good idea to have sections alone bond before you have the entire band bond. Especially with burroughs band, they have some pretty stubborn people. I say, have a casual day in the week where there can be a bonding day, like the first day. Play games, get into groups and do stuff, get the freshmen involved along with the seniors. We'll see how it goes from there, and I hope it works!

Have a swim party! My section would have music and excercise sectionals, and at the excercise ones, we never really excercised. We just swam around and talked the whole time. Though we never got aything done, we became extremely close.
