To-Be Section Leader

Hello. I am currently an eighth-grade Bass Clarinet player. My director told me that I will, if I maintain first chair position, be the Bass Clarinet Section Leader starting next year. I'm a bit scared so I figured that I would ask you all. What should I expect? And is it hard?
