Aha... as I said, I was impressed with how many details the author reported correctly. Turns out that the journalist, Chris Macias, marched in the Santa Clara Vanguard in 1987!

Ive seen blast twice live. Once in Disney Land (well california adventure actually) while on our CMEA trip. Our Color Guard, drum line and a few band members saw Blast in San Jose a few months ago. I own the dvd now
