Post subject:  Santa Clara County Honor Band

Just a reminder to those of you who are interested in this county that auditions are 2 weeks away. Make sure you've gotten the paperwork with all the proper signatures. Flutes make sure you have the All-State piece as the prepared piece, and percussionists make sure you have the audition exercises. Make sure you stick around for results so you don't miss the first rehearsal (and get booted out). Check your calendars, make sure rehearsal dates are clear (missed rehearsal = da' boot, no questions asked).

Auditions are at San Jose State Friday, Dec. 13th with the first rehearsal scheduled to begin Saturday morning, Dec. 14th. This year's guest conductor will be Ed Harris, Director of Bands at SJSU.

Congratulations to all who made it through the audition process.

To all else, you are invited to hear this fine group which has been commented as being better than other all-state ensembles throughout the nation. The concert for the Santa Clara County Band Directors Association Honor Band will take place on Sunday, January 19th. The venue will be Spangenberg Theater on the campus of Henry Gunn High School in Palo Alto. The performance is scheduled to begin at 2:00pm.

WHY? It highlights some of the best high school musicians in all of Santa Clara County. This honor band has been commented as being better than other all-state bands throughout the nation. This will certainly be a very good concert!
