I've done 2 Rose Parades (hopefully 3 next year) and let me tell you, it is quite a surreal experience. It's very long, but it's a phenominal feeling that only a select many people have had the chance of experiencing.

Post by luv2drum06 » Tue Oct 21, 2003 6:36 pm

i no that rbv got into the rose parade last year because 2 years ago at the las vegas competition, the people who pick bands came to watch another band. but, they ended up liking rbv's show and performance, so they got picked instead....

Rose Parade

Post by crazypepsarecool » Sun Oct 26, 2003 2:42 pm

 All i have to say is good luck. Its really fun. Drink a lot of water and sleep. Some of us slept of 4hrs before the rose parade last year and we really felt it. And ignore the signs. When we were on the parade route we thought we were almost done and then there were signs saying 8 more miles to go. We were about to die. Turned out that there was about 100 feet more to go. So good luck and STRECH before u start.

Rose parade

Post by Drivethruboy168 » Sun Nov 30, 2003 5:17 pm

Well i was thinking since granada hills high is't LAUSD anymore, they are now Granada Hills Charter High School, maybe one year we'll get invited!! I'm stoked that Santa Clara Vanguard is going! My friend Josh Alfaro is going to be in it because he was in the 2003 show, he's in the tenor line at scv.
Does anyone know if Chino high school is going? DO you guys think it sux that Tournament of Champions was cancelled this year? That's the comp that everybody looks forward to going. Especially the seniors. I know i was mad when i heard it was cancelled!! cuz last year we got second and we were close to beating chino and i wantd to have Granada vs. Chino! that's the main event for me every year! Well I guess my last comps are winterline comps and this year Granada is going to WGI championships and no ADLA!! sorry. Rubidoux good luck this year, hope to see you out there. Well gotta go!!

2004 will be my first time marching in this parade. I'll be on baritone with RCC, joining up with them on the 13th when I return home from school up here in Oregon. I'm so STOKED!!!

It's a 17 hour drive from Portland to Riverside. I'll be leaving Thursday afternoon in hopes to get into Riverside before 3:00pm Friday so I can stop by my Alma Mater and pick up an instrument to use.

I'm very excited about this :D

Looks like the AP #1 USC Trojans will be representing the PAC-10 in the Rose Bowl. That means, the Trojan Marching Band will also be making its way down Colorado Blvd for this years TofR Parade!

Though, it's sad that the BCS didn't allow us to make it to New Orleans this time for the Sugar Bowl, one can't deny the rich tradition of the TofR. The parade on multiple network TV, guranteed 3 minutes of halftime airplay, and of course exposure to some of the nation's best high school bands... we're excited.

Hope to see some of you out there.

Fight On Trojans!

Tpournament of Rose Bands

Post by JLGORMAN » Mon Dec 08, 2003 8:27 pm

Ithink USC got hosed out of going to New Orleans, now however the Rose Bowl will have two great Bands this year. The Spirit of Troy and the Great M Band from MIchigan. The Alma Mater of More University Directors than any other. What great Bands for New Years Day

I had the pleasure of attending Michigan vs Washington game several years back. If you have never been to a rose bowl game, then you are missing out. The parade is cool but the pregame sort of battle of the bands is so awesome. Michigan will sprint out and cover the field and the fans go nuts. They always put on a great show! The evironment cant be beat.

BCS baffoons made the Rose Bowl people so happy... The game should be a classic.
Truth is not a theory..
