Haha, we stole Kansas State's, as our mascot is theirs (wildcats). Sad thing is, we have the same mascot logo and everything. Go figure. But yes, our fight song is actually "Wildcat Victory." Not quite as cool as "War Eagle" in my opinion, but hey, I didn't choose the music. ;p

ok this topic is REALLY old but I'm a n00b here so possibly my fresh perspective can help breathe some life into old topics... or not :b

Mr. Bandmaster Dave, just so you know, I am also a Paramount alum from 1997-2001 and not only did we play "On Wisconsin" all four of my years but I've been hearing it there almost every year since (the "almost" is the 2 year break I took from teaching cymbals/drumline).

Of course the drum parts have changed because drummers always get a little fidgety if they have to play the same thing for 2 or more years straight for some reason :b

The topic is revived!!!
Apparently On Wisconsin was the original fight song of Carlsbad High School. Somewhere down the line it was changed to Minnesota Rouser, but we played On Wisconsin a few times for the 50th anniversary of the school in 2007.
My high school in Utah played On Wisconsin for our fight song. It seems to be a favorite.

I think Santa Monica High uses it too?

Arroyo has their own fight song too - it's actually part of the trio from SIBA - extra points if you know what that stands for and no fair looking it up on google. We also play "Tribute to Troy" and "Sons of Westwood" during football games because we all know teenagers get bored easily and since most musicians (well, at least the percussionists) have some level of ADD, we like to keep them busy and entertained. :jester:

Let's see, at Monte Vista HS (Mike Doty) our fight song was On Wisonsin. At La Serna HS (Jim Spencer/Ron Burroughs/Al Zeller/Bob Anthony) it was Sons of Westwood. At CSULB the fight song is based on the trio section from the march Solid Men to the Front" When I taught at Brea it was Go, Northwestern, Go AND Fight On, at Magnolia it's The Victors (the school that shall not be named), but here at Centennial we actually have an original! Of course, everyone should be using Across the Field, as played by TBDBITL! I'm sorry, was too much information?

In HS our FS was the UCLA fight song..and our director was from USC..go figure..

My first teaching gig they had no fight song. Really.

At my current dual gig one school's fight songs is "Go U Northwestern" (appropriate..considering both teams win/loss record) and the others is the trio of the march, "Our Director"..not only a really BAD fight song, but the words do not fit the melody exactly...you have to make "Oroville" into a one syllable word to make it fit. Dumb.

El Cajon Valley High School. I graduated in 1971. Our fight song was called "NC-4". It had a terrible flute part.
