Cypress HS has moved up

Post by SinfonianBrass » Mon Sep 27, 2004 12:28 am

With much growth, a great feeder program in place, a talented staff, supportive parents/boosters, and a large, but young, hard working group of students...

The Cypress High School Centurion Marching Band and Pageantry will be competing in the 5A division (S.C.S.B.O.A.) this fall.

This now makes three 5A bands (Cypress, Loara, Savanna) and one 6A band (Kennedy) in the Anaheim Union High School District. Not too bad eh??? A new director at Magnolia (3A/4A?), Vore's old stomping grounds (by the way, where's that book Mr. Hausey, I'm still waiting, and for an autographed copy too!!!) should bring life back to that program over the next few years!!!

Lot's of action and growth in the A.U.H.S.D this fall!!! Hang on, it should be fun.
Let there be nothing but the truth in music.

its not lame, just asking out of those schools who are close to each other, and are around the same size. Just tell me and i'll add more 4A groups to the poll

However, if you are going to post a poll regarding such an issue, then best you include all you can. The bands you think may be the ones to beat may not be the same bands another person thinks.

if you notice my question asked the most potencial not the best, and most of the schools that are listed are form the same general area and are kinda rivals. Oh yea and i commend Cypress for there growth this year.

Bluntly put:

Either fill out the poll to include all bands or you can not have a poll and just let people express who they think are the bands to beat by thier posts, free of the containment of a poll.

I'd personally go with the second one, as you can't include more than 10 poll options, and I'm sure there are far more than 10 bands in 4a, 5a, and 6a.

I see 4a, 5a, and 6a. Please modify accordingly.
Thank you.

I understand that poll says specifically 4A.

I was referring to the first post, not the poll. The poll states 4a, but the first post of the topic refers to 4a, 5a, 6a. I'm sorry for not making that more clear so that you knew that was what I was referring to.

It makes little sense to have a thread and a poll not quite match up.

I agree with FM. Your poll should match your first post.

Webster defines potential to be: Something that has the possibility of becoming something actual. So if your talking about bands that could possibly win, you should put all the bands in the 4A class. Including Valencia High School who won SCSBOA championships last fall. I mean, they have potential to win just like all the other bands right?

While you have that dictionary open, check the difference between "your" and "you're. "

Sorry, my grammar teacher appears from time to time on my shoulder while I read these posts. Even some of the staff and directors make those kinds of mistakes. I've put her away now....
