Actually...

I think Mandarins had to go Div I after taking part in quarterfinals competition the previous year (a couple of other corps had the same deal). So although continued success played a part...it wasn't totally based off that factor alone.

So...was the original post talking about WBA/SCCBOA movement? Or DCI? Since this was posted under the Marching Band thread...I'm assuming this is what they meant. Something like...moving from "A" to "AA" in WBA for instance.

Mandarins became a division 1 corps in 2002 after submitting the proper whatnots to do so. They had to be evaluated and approved by a DCI committee before the jump though.

And basically in 2002 they competed in division 2, but to compete in Division 1 quarter finals, they had to agree to compete as a division one corps in 2003, which is what they did.

At least, that's what I'm told

Dude.... I freaking love Hart. I saw there show this year and was blown away at the stuff they pulled off with their numbers. Hats off to hart, I think they could compete at 5a or maybe 6a level.

Last year we went from 2A to 3A and this year were going to 4A... possible 5A.

Well I don't know about the whole number then A thingys. Leigh isn't used to that. But I do know that we are moving from strictly NCBA shows to some WBA shows with a couple of NCBA shows. I'm only bringing it up b/c a lot of people I know wanted leigh to try some WBA shows. Especially Allumni who were very excited about it.

P.S. could someone be so kind as to explain the 2A...3A...4A... ect. stuffs? It would be much appreciated since we will now be dealing with that stuff.
The season may be through but the memories will keep playing.

someone else can probably explain it better, but basically, its divisions that they split the bands into based on their size
"I get to go to lots of overseas places, like Canada."(Britney Spears)"I love California, I practically grew up in Phoenix."(Dan Quayle, former Vice President)"If it weren't for electricity we'd all be watching television by candlelight."
