Hey! formermarcher

I know how you feel. Every year I go to my former high school band performance and football games. Every time I go and end up not recogize any of the band or color guard members.

wow
i didn't kno so many bands had 2-3 week band camps
ours is not even a full one week, because the majority of our students take summer school, go out of town for 2-3 weeks in august, and come back juss in time for new marchers camp, followed by band camp
No regrets

Thats exactly it!

You think back on how huge marching band was in your life while you were in it, but when you return you recognize no one, and no one recognizes you. The dynamic characters of drum major and all other leaders spawn from people that you have no idea ever existed...
"It is your destiny to be the leader who uses this event to rally a city, a nation...a world"

"Its not what you do or what you say, but HOW you do it that matters the most"

Our first week of band camp ended and a lot of things have changed. We end this Thursday. How do you guys get everything done in two weeks and actually make it look good? How do you get people to want to finish the show and do good?

When I was in band back in high school! We had band camp for 2 full weeks from 8am to 12pm. With Drum Majors & Section Leaders meeting from 12:30pm to 1:15pm. We never learn the drill until the first day of school started. Because during band camp we never got everybody full attendance there.

is it a good thing that it's your last band camp?

We start band camp on Wednesday, and come home on Sunday. Then school starts, and we have our normal practices like everyday...

we have already started band camp and it's actually a lot of fun...ironically. the music is great but our marching is a bit sloppy. plus we practice basics a lto nd we practice in the hot hot heat. plus i can't stand still for long (like add) so sometimes that becomes a problem.

band camp use ot be hot but now its better to have it 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. now. Band camp is a bonding part with new memebers and bonding with the band too. (colorguard) its cool, you learn new work, so new drama. New drill so you go through the process of waiting for the section leaders to set u lol. well even though its sound bad, its actually something u never forget

Band camp for us was 3 weeks for leaders and freshmen, and 2 for the rest. It was, like, 95 degrees out there, and we were marching and sweating instead of sleeping in on our summer vacation. But, it was my last HS band camp, and it's wierd to say this, but I'll miss it next year.

Hey! T_BoneBandNerd

I agree with you about leaving your last HS band camp. But then thinking of it. You can sometimes return to your former high school as a staff member or something else.
