Las Plumas/Oroville Band Festivo 2004-new format!

Post by JCYS » Wed Apr 21, 2004 9:16 am

Saturday, October 9th, 2004, Oroville, CA.

For years the LP/O Band Festivo has been suffering the "SAT Blues." Being on one of the "prime" SAT weekends some bands do not want to compete on that weekend.

This year we are trying a new format to help bands get around that problem.

We will be running an early afternoon band review parade, about 1 or 2 pm, and an early evening field show (about 5pm). This means students can take their SAT's (and Las Plumas HS is an SAT site), and still make the parade or field show.

We encourage you to give it a try. It's a reasonably short parade route that starts and ends at the stadium. There is no standing inspection. We give awards to all bands. Its a beautiful parade route along the streets of old downtown Oroville, lined with large trees and wonderful Victorian homes in this gold rush town.

Harrison field is a good field show stadium, with a well kept field.

Watch for information/entry forms this spring, or contact Jeff Stratton @ jstbone@sunset.net

LP/O Band Festivo is approved and judged by the NCBA.
