SCSBOA Field Champs, Dec 4, 2004
A proposed/tentative/semi/not set in concrete/to be finalized at later date sort-of decision has been made to have the SCSBOA Field Championships on Saturday, December 4, 2004. There is no other immediate information available at this time.
Nothing is official or concrete until the SCSBOA Board of Directors approves a final decision that would be announced in the SCSBOA Newsletter and/or on the SCSBOA website by the Vice President of Field Adjudication.
That is all for now...

T of C
The T of C in Santa Ana was cancelled in 2003. SCSBOA has did not provide judges for the final T of C held in 2002. I doubt that it will return in the future...
The history of the T of C including its beginning in 1974 and its ending in 2002 was a topic of discussion on this website some months back. I am sure the string is in this website if you want to search for it. Perhaps someone out there can locate it.

I don't think that is very smart on the part of SCSBOA to do that, because most of the larger bands stop marching at Thanksgiving. And I don't think that they would see championships as an incentive to keep marching. I think the response to championships is going to go down if they do that. The good thing about it is that it would be pretty much the last tourny of the season, the way championships is supposed to happen. It will be interesting

That's their problem.kkeonih667 wrote:I don't think that is very smart on the part of SCSBOA to do that, because most of the larger bands stop marching at Thanksgiving. And I don't think that they would see championships as an incentive to keep marching.
OK, seriously...I am not trying to be rude here. Just take it at face value. Nobody says you have to stop at Thanksgiving. We go one week past only because Royal is a local show and is a good way to end the season. However, this is an even better way. This may also increase the "prelims" schedule.
It will be interesting how this all pans out. I am sad for Royal though...I don't know how they will fare during all of this.
Quite sorry, I think this might have been taken as a bit of arrogance. I am aware that all of the bands who participate in championships get patches for "participants". Since we're decent for our class, we usually go to championships. Although my band hasn't gotten first, we still look forward to championships.tetzlaffdrummer wrote:What High School you from?altohack wrote:yay championships again
another patch for my leatherman... hopefully.
No regrets

Hey its cool who doesn't look forward to the championships. Thats when all the marching bands are at their greatest and you have a chance to be the top band in all of Southern California which, is a very good thing that you brag about for the rest of your life if you want. So its cool dude.altohack wrote:Quite sorry, I think this might have been taken as a bit of arrogance.
