World of Pageantry

Okie. After SCSBOA Championships, Etiwanda and RBV were both on the field. As etiwanda walked by, we applauded them and cheered, then someone from Etiwanda threw a medal into the air. It was caught, but who threw it? I was just wondering?

One our (RBV) baritone guys caught it. I wonder why someone would want to throw a SCSBOA Championship medal though. Lol.

I was also wondering about that, but i saw more than one medal thrown. I heard that they were being nice and throwing them because they had extra medals...not because they were the champs and wanted to chuck medals in our faces you know?i could be wrong, but i cant picture Etiwanda acting that way.

hmm...either way it sounds kinda weird...why on earth would they throw medals? and if they were throwing extras, why would they toss them at other bands? I mean, I would be proud of my acheivement if my band got 1st an Championships! I just don't understand why they would throw medals!! lol. weirdness...

Wow! That is weird. The only reasoning I can think of is that the Etiwanda student already had a medal from last year and didn’t feel that they needed a second one. I don’t think SCSBOA would allow them to keep extra metals so that explanation may be off. But who knows?

You know i think it was a gesture that they think your champs too. That you deserve that medal just as much as they do.
