When I'm nervous, my leg starts twitching or my knees start shaking. Then if we're sitting down in awards, my foot start thumping like Thumper from Bambi.
I swear I didn't do it! ... Why are you all looking at me funny?....

Nervous

Post by ILL~BE~BACH » Sat Nov 29, 2003 7:15 pm

I used to take Vicodin before marching. I had broken my left clavicle, and I played the Sousaphone. If you play the sousaphone, you know that it's heavy and it sits on your left clavicle.....I don't remember Santa Cruz, Lodi, Newman, Fairfield, Festivo, or Napa from my frosh year till my junior year....I had nerve problems, arm went numb (peralysis) for 2 1/2 years. I'm a senior now and I'm clean of all Vicodin. Since it's my senior year, I want it to be perfect. The Vicodin calmed me down before, but now there's nothing. I get so nervous. I threw up a little before Lodi this year. It was bad. :vomit:
LP/O Rocks!!!!!! Oh yes, we are, superior by far!!!!!

Q: How can you tell which kid on the playground is the child of a trombonist?

A: They don't know how to use the slide and can't swing.

Nervous...ez....

Post by SafeSax » Mon Dec 01, 2003 7:06 pm

When i get nervous about something...like championships.....i just think about what i'm going to do after. For example: Before championship i thought to myself..."what i am going to do after this is going to be awesome, i just have to do this 10 min show and i'm out of there." Then you get to excited about what place your going to get....then get more nervous....so...whatever.
The field at school is the Marching Band's field, not footballs.

Breathe. Think happy thoughts.
Lead, follow, or get out of the way.

See the problem is that I couln't breath and my master (my section leader.) was starting to yell at me cause I wouldn't breath....I tryed my best, but as soon as I got that under control I couldn't stop shaking.

I am sorry master Elisa!

I usually just take deep, concentrated breaths, and that slows down my heart rate.

Just make sure your fear doesn't control or harm your focus.
Lead, follow, or get out of the way.
