We played Bravura this fall. Sure enough, in our first review,
SIX OTHER BANDS PLAYED IT!!
Others overplayed: Thunderer

At a recent SCSBOA conferrence workshop, overplayed field show themes were discussed. The top 2?

#1 West Side Story
#2 Latin/Latin Jazz (ala Malaguena, Malaga, etc.)

The point was not that playing these themes was bad. One of the best shows I've seen this year was primarily Spanish (Granada Hills... Good Job, Al :bow: ). It's just that everyone has been there/marched that, so if you're going to program this music, make sure you bring something new to the table and you bring it well. 8-)
