I think either Ayala or Clovis West will take it, but I voted for Clovis West (they'll have the "hometown" crowd).

Logan the Almighty?

Post by Mr. Bill » Tue Nov 18, 2003 12:12 pm

Bacasue Logan is not here this year it does open things up for the rest. However, Logans guard was upset by Beyer earlier in the season so the mighty may be ripe to fall next year. Logan is a great band, no doubt, but reputation alone will not win the show, you have to put it on the field. Next year there could be several challengers for the title. May the best band win!

Polls....schmols

Post by Been Around Awhile » Tue Nov 18, 2003 12:46 pm

You DO of course realize that polls mean nothing...

Mission Viejo beat Ayala at the Trabuco tournament last weekend. El Toro took AAA and Fallbrook was a surprise winner of AA. (don't get mad, Fallbrook, at the word "surprise", you guys looked great!)

WBA Championships are up for grabs at all levels!
What are those football players doing on the band field?

Beyer - WBA 4A Champions

Post by midavid » Tue Nov 18, 2003 4:01 pm

My vote for 4A WBA champion goes to Fred C. Beyer High School of Modesto, CA. They put on a great show, as evidenced by capturing the Auxiliary caption against James Logan HS and Clovis West HS. Rock the House Beyer!

Being from Clovis West, I know we have not had a show for a few weeks--nearly three weeks ago--however, the score from that show was a 90.25 and I am very sure we have made vast improvements in many areas since and are still performing the entire show on a regular basis.

Beyer, I believe, has also not performed since (we were both rained out of the show the following week).

Wow!!! This year is going to be awesome since James Logan is out of the picture. FINALLY the top spot is for the taking and hopefully the top division band deserves the spot. I'm in one of those bands: Ayala, Clovis West, Beyer and Mission. It's going to be a tough race but the band that gets it totalle deserves it!! good luck anf make it your best show ever seniors in all the marching bands!!!

i'm kinda scared to see what goes down! i'm in one of those 4a bands myself and i just have no clue what's gonna happen! it's to hard to hard to surmise who will win so i'll just say who i think will be top 5:
ayala
upland
mission
clovis west
beyer
but to say who the winner will be....no way! i have no clue...scores have just been crazy and unexpected things have happened! i dont know about clovis or beyer but i know upland beat ayala and mission then ayala beat upland then mission beat ayala and upland so...what does that tell ya? it just depends on the day and who works harder for it, who shows the judges that THEY really want it; want it more than all other bands. best of luck to all.

"I think either Ayala or Clovis West will take it, but I voted for Clovis West (they'll have the "hometown" crowd)."

If you look at Clovis West's (AAAA) last competion on 11.01.2003, you will see their score was 90.25 (902.50)

Compare that to Ayala's score at Trabucuo Hills on 11.15.20003, you will see their score of 92.60 (926.00)

Etiwanda placed first, with the GE, Music & Visual. They Swept three of the captions. Score: 93.68 (936.80).

Etiwanda doesn't or has not particpated in the WBA recently, that I know of. They are in the SCSBOA circuit. Strange but very admirable and coo - Why Not!?!

Mission Viejo placed second with a Caption Award in Percussion. Score: 92.73 (927.30).

Ayala HS - Chino Hills placed third with a Caption Award in Auxilary. Score 92.60 (926.00)

The difference with the scores with Etiwand and Ayala was 1.8

Based on the calculations, Ayala will be #1 or #2

Would you all be so kind and reply to my calculations and findings?

Thanks,

Carol

TheGhostofAHS

I'm assuming that are with the AyalaBAC!?!

If you are, don't be so pestimistic. Our BAC has to be the one that runs the show - OWN THE FIELD!

Do your best, as I have lectured my two daughter's who play the clarinets and then some. They are very veristile in musi ; Bass Clairinet, Flute, Trombone, Drums, Accoustic and Bass Guitar and Keyboard. As wel,l they have wonderful voices, espeially, Britta - Susie also has a beautiful voice.

Don't understimate your abilities, be confindent and sure of yourself and PRACTICE!

TheGoastOfAHS: Read my postsn on this particular message board. I've summed up the scores. We will be the champions or #2.

Of course, if some marchers mess up; slip, fall, etc. that could effect the outcome. But, you realize Ayala is a very great Marching Band, ie AyalaBAC.

Don't worry Be Happy!

Upland will not score higher than Ayala and as far as Mission Viejo, that was a fluke, we have aways scored higher than those two great bands. The exception was (Mission Viejo) this past saturday, 11.15.03

Hope this helps. And Please read my past post regarding scores in this mesge baord: You have nothing to worry abou,t except practice practice practice, OK?
