2016 NCBA Parade Power Rankings - Week 3

Post by Blindman » Mon Oct 10, 2016 7:10 am

Disclaimer: A few scores were modified to reflect placings. Once we reach mid-season, the "top three score" format will kick in and the rankings will make better sense. By that time, more bands would have competed multiple times. Please, take these rankings with a grain of salt as they are not official. Also note that the CUPERTINO TOURNAMENT OF BANDS scores are not reflected in this ranking as they have not been provided at this time.

Classes have been redesigned to reflect a more consistent amount of competitors in a single division. Please see below for the scoring ranges:
  • Class 4A: 90.00-100.00
    Class 3A: 85.00-89.99
    Class 2A: 80.00-84.99
    Class 1A: 50.00-79.99

FINAL THOUGHTS

With Week 4 ahead of us, the Santa Cruz Band Review will be the largest parade competition this season. The ranking will change significantly due to the large amount of units available to pull from, as well as many bands going head to head for the first time this season. After SCBR, the ranking should be completely filled and then mid-season will be upon us. I do expect the top 10 to change after this Saturday with the introduction of new bands and fresh numbers. There may be more of a rearrangement, but a few may break into the 90.00 range. Just looking at all the classes and ranges, half the units so far have scores of a 85.00 and above, which is highly competitive. I can't wait to see the numbers once we reach the midway point.

Good luck this Saturday!
