WHOAAA ok... thinking that Ayala and Mission are going to beat Etiwanda is a little far fetched Ayala and mission are good but Etiwanda has an awesome program and i think at this time Etiwanda is a little out of everyones leage, seeing your from Chino Hills, it looks you might be a little biast toward Ayala. But hey you never know your prediction might be right

dont criticize my predictions. if you want to make your own, go ahead and do so. i am not sure if etiwanda will do so well in wba judging with their show this year, but i may be wrong. and i dont have bias towards ayala, let alone any other school. dont assume that i do just because i live in chino hills. to tell the truth, i dont really think any high school is out of league. high school bands belong in the 'high school band league'kr123 wrote:WHOAAA ok... thinking that Ayala and Mission are going to beat Etiwanda is a little far fetched Ayala and mission are good but Etiwanda has an awesome program and i think at this time Etiwanda is a little out of everyones leage, seeing your from Chino Hills, it looks you might be a little biast toward Ayala.

Tyler,
Just a thought before "predicting" El Toro in 5th this weekend....last weekend in Mission Viejo, they had 11 (yes, ELEVEN) holes in the winds and guard due to a mercilessly bad flu that went around the band. All week, the drill looked like swiss cheese! Lead players missing, low reeds gone...a bummer.
This week, everyone will be back in. It's amazing....they go to BOA, handily beat everyone but Etiwanda, come back with a bunch of holes in the drill, and people put them in a "prediction" of 5th. Have you even seen the show? I usually don't come on boards like these and rant, but please...know the facts.
I know you have a right to post whatever you want, but as an educator, adjudicator and player with 2 decades of DCI and band experience, I can assure you that last weekend is in NO WAY an indicator of the group's performance abilities.
You don't know these kids.

well you dont have to get all mad. and yes, i didnt know that. i didnt know the 'facts' as you say. because of course when a band goes on to the field, the announcer is not going to say to pardon the peformance and scores because of the sick members' holes in the show. i didnt know, but i guess it does change my predictions for the upcoming show. it did seem strange that they had not placed as well as i had predicted at mission, but now i know why thanks to your informative post. to tell the truth, i know a lot of bands with holes for this and that reason but it doesnt matter about the excuse because you still have to perform with what you gotCadetsnare wrote:Tyler,

Holes!!
I hear Upland also had the flu bug, Ayala was down a few due to flu as well. Maybe not as severe as El Toro.
But back on subject. The AAA division will be a slugfest. I really want to see that one. AAAA may be a few suprises. I cant wait. Trabuco is a good host and its going to be fun.

Hey Tyler, I was just wondering if you have seen Etiwanda’s or El Toro’s shows this year. Because if you haven’t, it is really quite foolish to ignore previous scores where Etiwanda has beaten Ayala (in an SCSBOA contest) and considerably outscored them in the same week at BOA (albeit at different tournaments). Ayala has been the southern
California WBA heavyweight this year and by this deductive reasoning if Etiwanda has beaten Ayala before, and Ayala has beaten everyone in WBA, Etiwanda should beat everyone at a WBA contest. I know their your predictions and you are entitled to them but I just thought I would educate you on an easier way to predict bands that haven’t competed against each other yet.

Its all a hunch no one can predict these things.
"I would educate you on an easier way to predict bands that haven’t competed against each other yet."
well maybe except for Phantom who is real good but he has a system(Thats been pretty good in the past) or Mr Irons who is usually pretty close.
I dunno its just good fun so lets all chill out on how to predict and who gonna do what, its going to be a great show.
Maybe we can hear from Mr Irons on Phantom on what they think about this one?
Truth is not a theory..
trust me, im well aware. you dont have to educate me. ive seen the shows. and yes, i may be foolish in having some fun in predicting bands. my great apologies to youbanddork04 wrote:Hey Tyler, I was just wondering if you have seen Etiwanda’s or El Toro’s shows this year. and by the way, your deductive reasoning kinda fails since you would have to say 'etiwanda has beaten ayala in scsboa before...'

Up fo grabs!!
Predictions
I don't even think a computer statistics program could come up with a foolproof way of predicting the 4A competition here!...TOO MANY VARIABLES!!!!!!
So, ultimately predictions end up looking like the hopes of the predictors.
Sorry, but that's really how it looks.
