The Big Day

Post by JLGORMAN » Sat Oct 18, 2014 7:16 am

The third Saturday of Oct in TX has traditionally been the day our High School Bands compete at UIL Regional Marching Contests. Due to the large growth in number of Bands, Regional Contests now start the second Saturday in Oct and will end this year on the 23rd. That being said today over 750 HS Bands will compete at 24 different locations across the state for the chance to advance in State competition in Classes AAAA & AAAAAA. All Bands are looking for a 1st Division Rating since this is the gold standard by which Bands in TX are judged. By the end of this evening some Bands will be very happy and some very disappointed. In several Regional Contests today up to 40 Bands will be rated on their Field performance. For all Bands this is the make or break contest of the year. Good Luck to all Bands competing today
