Does anyone know what Duarte's 15 points of penalties were from?

Just an educated guess...considering that is probably close to the maximum amount of penalties allowed on the sheet....just about everything, including:

No conductors Scores.
Not playing continuously through the comp zone until everyone is out.
Drum major taking longer than 30 seconds to step off
Not reaching the 250' point or the end of competition in the allotted time. (I believe it is 1 minute to the 250 mark and 2.5 minutes to the end of comp?).
Not playing a march on "the list"

There are other, more "rare" penalties (standing more than 8 counts for stepoff), etc.

Those are just probables. I can't remember every penalty in the SCSBOA book, or how much they are for.

I got curious and checked. There are 57 points of potential music infractions, 13 points of potential non-music infractions and 9 points of potential parade infractions. So a if band really tried they could get
almost 79 points off in penalties. There are at least two penalties where if you got one, you couldn't get the other.

It's rare to see a 15 point penalty for any band. Having seen Duarte perform in their hometown parade (they weren't judged), if they played the same way at Azusa then I think the following penalties were given:

5.0 - No conductor's scores
9.0 - March must be played to its entirety
1.0 - Editing of march
