 I listed the wrong times, I put staging by mistake. At least no one will be LATE because of it. FYI, I left off scouts, grand marshal, etc. I have corrected it-

The SAT definitely hurt the TOB. I got what appears to be the official schedule form the Dublin HS web site.

Parade
Cupertino HS -H- 10:15 AM
Redwood MS -MS- 10:20
Terra Nova HS -AAA- 10:25
San Benito HS -AAA- 10:30
N. Monterey County- AAA- 10:35
Buhach Colony HS - AAAA- 10:40
Fremont HS -AAAAA- 10:45
Homestead HS -AAAAA- 10:50

(yep, that's it)

Awards - 1:00

Field
Wilcox -A- 4:30
Del Mar -AA- 4:45
Terra Nova -AAA- 5:00
Westmont -AAAA- 5:15
Branham -AAAA- 5:30
Cupertino -Host- 5:45

Mountain View - AAAAA- 6:15
Fremont -AAAAA- 6:30
Damonte Ranch -AAAAA- 6:45
Dublin -AAAAA- 7:00
Saratoga -AAAAA- 7:15
Lynbrook -AAAAA- 7:30
Milpitas -AAAAA- 7:45
Homestead -AAAAA- 8:00
San Jose State -exib- 8:15

Awards- 9:00

Wow, that's unfortunate. With only seven street bands...you gotta wonder if it's even worth having the street competition (considering all the permits/fees required).

And I thought that Cupertino was making a strong comeback after some really weak showings back in the late 2000s...we'll see how the competition fares next year. It's weird because SAT always falls during Cupertino yet this year's lineup seems to be alarmingly small.

That said, my money is on SAN BENITO to take top honors on the street.
Go Balers!!!

Field looks highly unbalanced (in terms of scheduled performing groups).
Good if your interest is only in the big bands.
But looks like many in that category are going to go home empty handed due to the insane level of competition amongst the big bands (it's gonna be a bloodbath!!!).

It's been several years since the SAT was on this weekend, they had been on the first Saturday. The November dates also switched this year from the 2nd to the 1st Saturday. I have no idea why they change it up.

Interesting to see one division be as large as all four divisions combined. Looking forward to returning to Cupertino! Great school & community!!

According to the schedule you posted, the parade competition will practically be over by the time it barely starts according to the CHS TOB website.

I suppose I'll email Gilbert in the morning.

Thanks for posting this, PGOK.

Can someone confirm the class for Westmont? 3A or 4A?

Can someone post a link or describe here how classes are determined at TOB? I think it's wonderful that so many programs are growing, and Lynbrook has clearly moved up to the big leagues. But I was still very surprised at the number of bands in Class 5A this year.

Number of musicians (winds and percussion).

A: 1-35
AA: 36-50
AAA: 51-70
AAAA: 71-95
AAAAA: 96+

Cupertino has traditionally always had a high number of large bands at it. Most of the big, Bay Area NCBA bands use TOB as a "debut" show.

Great, thank you! (Link especially appreciated.)

For the six years I've been attending, Class 5A was always Mountain View, Homestead, and Saratoga, plus or minus 1. That's why it was such a shock to see eight, a couple of which were 3A last year.

It's all good. And so many great shows this year! :clap2:

When we receive the scores, we will post them on the scores page. We are at the mercy of the event people to release the scores for publication.

My profuse apologies -- I was working at the time, wasn't thinking about this forum, and while I know most of the placements from memory, I didn't write down the scores. :(

AAA: Westmont HS: 80.360
AAA: Terra Nova HS: 80.790
AAAA: Branham HS: 86.765
AAAA: Damonte Ranch HS: 88.535

AAAAA: Mountain View HS: 83.410
AAAAA: Dublin HS: 84.240
AAAAA: Milpitas HS: 86.345
AAAAA: Fremont HS: 86.660

AAAAA: Saratoga HS: 90.865
AAAAA: Homestead HS: 91.365

Full recaps are on http://www.ncbaonline.net.
Parade scores have not yet been published.

Great shows all this year, Branham's "Freaky Tiki" is particularly clever, but I have to confess that Lynbrook's based on "How To Train Your Dragon" is my fav. :D
