Interesting, but do not count out JWN. I have seen MV up close and personal now in three head to head competitions. I have not personally seen Granada Hills but understand they also have a great show.

We will have to wait and see. Good luck to all 3 of these bands, and the other 5A competitors.

My daughter was a Blue Star Regiment (BSR) member when JWN won the 1st SCSBOA 5A championship last year.

There are a lot of bands we should not count out...JWN is one of them for sure!

Also, there are a handful of 3A's that are simply awesome...Glendora, Riverside Poly, Oceanside, and the one band I think everyone is overlooking...Royal. I think this 3A thing is gonna be a real bear when the smoke clears.

Does someone have the results for the bands going to champs? The final line-up so to speak.

I'm tallying up the scores now, but not all the ones from this week have been posted yet so I'm still waiting on a few more scores...

Dont forget about us...

Post by VHSVikingette » Sun Nov 09, 2003 1:14 pm

There is another band in 3A that has been doing very well... Valencia has been scoring Mid 70s to Mid 80s and last night at Oxnard we scored very close to Westlake. Don't count us out yet! :D

Don't count us out indeed! However, the play-like performance really boosts Westlake's scores. By the way, I'm in LOVE with that little boy who runs around!

Do you mean Valencia/Valencia? Or Valencia/Placentia? It would be nice to see some VHS/Valencia Spirit!

Valenica/Placentia will be in the top ten, I wasn't sure about Valencia/Valencia, but with the scores from Oxnard Valencia/Valencia will probably be in, and Canyon might squeak by.

On the SCSBOA website it says they are drawing today for the order of the line-up, if and when someone knows what it is please post it, I am anxious to see it.

Another 3A that should be at Champs.

Post by guardlady » Sun Nov 09, 2003 5:24 pm

Another strong 3A group that should be at champs is San Clemente. They might not have made top 5, but they have a great, fun show.

However, all bets are off, with the 76 they got last night. It was a great show, but the numbers just didn't come through. So it's hard to predict if they will make it in or not, now.

Anyone else see that show? What a drumline, and the guard has improved so much over the last few years.

Oh man, am I excited for SCSBOA championships. It is going to be great to finally be able to see Carlsbad High School. They are a great school. Predictions for the 4a, Valencia and Carlsbad, are all over; it's too hard to decided who will win this year in this division. It's going to be a great fight. May the best band win. They are two tough bands, but of course they each have their strength and weaknesses. Man I can't wait to see them.
