I agree. This is a march we hardly see a band perform out in the street. Great pick Arcadia!

So, when are we getting a recording in the march library? :)

I found a good recording on YouTube, at least. Interesting march. Very Russian, no doubt.

The version we are playing is a little different. The intro is different and there are a few other differences. I have not been able to find a recording of the one we are playing, nor have I been able to find sheet music for the one on the recordings.

Arcadia performed it back in 1996. Andrew Landsford was the drum major. I'm sad that there are very few videos between 1994-1997. Temple City played it a few years after Arcadia did . Tho
se were great years for many bands but very little footage for bands like Mt. Carmel, Rancho Bernardo, Orange Glen, Magnolia, And Rubidoux to name a few.

Coincidently, I believe Rancho Bernardo is also playing the same march from 1996.

On another note, I believe this is the first time in ages that Mt. Carmel will play a 6/8 march (Gloria) on the street since, they had the rotation of marches with Mr. Warren Torns. That rotation consisted of Purple Carnival, Joyce's 71st NY Regiment, Solid Men to the Front!, and Bullets and Bayonets.

Sorry to have hijacked the thread..

I believe Arcadia under Tom Landes first did the Conqueror in 1980, followed by Magnolia in 1981.
