"WDMA Showdown @ the Glen" -- CHALLENGE DIVISIONS Announced!

As many of you know, on March 30th 2013, Orange Glen High School will be hosting the Inaugural WDMA Showdown @ the Glen, San Diego's premier drum major tournament!

The host school has officially released the details of their SPECIAL Challenge divisions taking place! These divisions will perform after the WDMA has completed all performances on their line-up. Here is what will be offered for everyone! PLEASE read all the details!

- Drill Down! - Free and available to anyone and everyone!

*Melee Divisions for Conducting & Spinning [entry: $5 per performance]
= Anyone from any division (max 10 competitors per discipline), past, present and future dm's. Conductors and Spinners are expected to wear uniform OR tuxedo/concert style dress. ALL songs MUST adhere to WDMA's guidelines for appropriateness. Mace/Military will be in the same division and not placed separately based on equipment. Spinning drum majors are allowed ONE performance in melee spinning only -- you must choose between mace or military. THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX, as effect will be more heavily weighted in this division. ALL PERFORMANCES must be between 2:00 and 4:00 minutes.

*Showdown Challenge: [entry fee: $5 per performance]
=Anyone from any division may compete in Spinning and/or Conducting. MUSIC WILL BE RESTRICTED -- your music for both spinning and conducting will be provided for you the day of competition. No one will know what the song is until that day. You will have the entire day to create a routine to your song -- so get there early to ensure you have plenty of time! (max 10 competitors in total per discipline)
SPINNERS --- Your performance area will be altered. And you will be REQUIRED TO EXECUTE 4 SPECIFIC MOVES in your routine. As part of the challenge, you will not be given these moves or know the performance area until the day of the competition. SPINNERS must choose between mace and military.

GENERAL INFO:
-Max performances are 10 per division (excluding drill down)
-ANYONE IS ELIGIBLE FOR THESE DIVISIONS, PAST, PRESENT, OR FUTURE (Aspiring) Drum Majors!
-Sign-Ups are first-come, first-serve. Performance Line-up will be random draw, and posted during the lunch break.
-IF DIVISIONS ARE MAXED OUT, we will run conducting and spinning simultaneously. We will do our best to make sure drum major performance times do not conflict, and RESERVE THE RIGHT to directly alter any post-scholastic line-up to do so.
