That performance alone is worth my 15 bucks.

Both. Bands do a field show followed by a "pass and review" on the track, on which they pass the entire front set of grandstands.

I don't see them listed on the schedule for bandfest. Anyone know why? They usually perform last on the 2nd day the event is held. Will they be somewhere else instead?

Congress has decided to make more cuts to various US Military Bands effective January 1, 2012. 2 of the 12 US Marine Bands (not including the DC Marine Band) will cease to exit including one of the bands who usually comprise part of the West Coast Composite Marine Band for the yearly Rose Parade. The Twenty-Nine Palms Marine Band is being deactivated.

Perhaps this is part of the issue... plans for membership, rehearsals, logistics, travel, etc. may not be finalized or advertised for the general public. Perhaps part of the budget for the Rose Parade Band is being cut.

The Japanese contingent is putting on a benefit concert this Tuesday evening. Benefits go to victims of the magnitude 9 earthquake in Japan back in March.

The concert is at Kennedy High School in La Palma and begins at 6:30pm.
