I'm going through my library and sending Dave emails. My goal is to make sure all of my Top 100 marches are in the WOP March Library. I've already sent him five or six, with about seven more to go. So, hopefully, by January you should be able to find any of my Top 100 marching in the WOP March Library.

Hey, it was on the list last year, too. :)

I actually like the march, it's just (a) badly overplayed and (b) often played badly.

They are SO out of step. :x :lol:

I'm amazed they could get as good of tone as they had, considering.

Which is amusing, because I think I've seen Honey Boys performed on the street in CA maybe once in twenty years of following bands.

Some march trivia:

We tend to think of famous marches as written "by those old composers"...yet Charlie Duble did not pass away till 1961.

Four major march composers died in 1956, can you name them?

As to Honey Boys on Parade, after it was re-released by KJOS (I think it is one of their "I used to conduct the Marine Band so I'm going to edit these marches" series)...it became quite the hit, but the first time I heard it was when the New England Conservatory did their "Salute to Merle Evans" recording back in the early 70's.

I think Hayward HS did some years ago on the street...
