Don Lugo marched at the fair on Sept. 7th (early...). Does anyone know how to see the scores?

Re: LA County Fair Bands 2011
Unless they have changed the procedure since I judged these parades, they keep the results confidential until the last band competes. And then they only used the results in discussions to decide which 3 bands will return for the championship round. Even then they will only list the top 3 band placements with no scores. They never released scores when I was doing it. Maybe SCSBOA has convinced the Fair officials to do it different now, I don't know. They might release the scores from the last night when the top 3 go head to head.Jim Bunselmeier wrote:Don Lugo marched at the fair on Sept. 7th (early...). Does anyone know how to see the scores?

Thanks for the link, Bryan. Santiago HS looked and sounded great. They did very well!!
I'm hoping to upload the bands that were recorded by my good friend while I was gone, from both the LA County Fair and the Duarte Parade.

Re: LA County Fair Bands 2011
I'd just like to say that all the bands did awesome. But only three bands will make finals. I just found out that Santiago High School band has made the finals. So, now all that's left is to find out the bands they will be competing against. Good luck! Santiago is a fierce competitor!
Re: LA County Fair Bands 2011
Yep. Santiago HS put on a great show. Congratulations on a very well deserved top 3 spot. I checked on their twitter page and looks like they are cancelling their appearance this Saturday at the Tustin Parade, since they are performing this Friday at the L.A. County Fair Marching Band Finals.
Congratulations once again, Santiago!

Looks like Kaiser hs has been called back again! WOW! They really proved alot of people wrong! GREAT JOB! Also this has been 5 years in a row being called back! OUTSTANDING! Well Good luck and as well to king and santiago.
Re: LA County Fair Bands 2011
I didn't say anything before, but it is a mistake to count Kaiser out. They are a VERY disciplined and musical band that has maintained a position in the top 15 SCSBOA parade bands for quite a few years. I expect them to be once again in the top 10 bands this year, as they were in 2009-2010. I only wish that the Tournament of Roses officials would extend an invitation to all three of the finalists. <hint, hint> What a great group of bands to represent SoCal to the millions of spectators in Pasadena and around the world! Personally, I think there are too few bands in the Tournament of Roses, but that's just me.mr.rod wrote:Looks like Kaiser hs has been called back again! WOW! They really proved alot of people wrong! I will join DR's call for the TofR to include all three as representatives of southern California. Once upon a time, there were four marching bands from California in the TofR.

I agree with you, Dennis. We should start a petition and send it to the Rose Parade Committee
