What's your march?

Re: What's your march?
As much as I love band, I must be doing it wrong. The song that pops in to my head the most is the bass line from "Cygnus X1" by Rush.

Re: What's your march?
I have two, actually -
Crown Imperial Coronation March by William Walton (Loara version, not for parade)
Op. 99 by Sergei Prokofiev
Okay - I left off Purple Carnival, my favorite parade march.

Re: What's your march?
Probably the "Official West Point March"
Re: What's your march?
Sing As We Go, better known to Monty Python fans as Sit on My Face.
...but I'll occasionally catch myself humming Purple Carnival, too.

That's easy. Entry March of the Boyars. I roll slow...
Re: What's your march?
Wow I didn't realize this thread got re-energized. Too funny.
I have to laugh at the person who said that they mix up marches. I find myself doing that all the time, and then get irritated when I can't find what I'm humming on my iPod!

For me, I'd have to say that it's all Broadbent marches. I love his writing. Maybe it's because I'm a euphonium player, no matter what it is, I can't get enough of his marches.

Re: What's your march?
I have a small repertoire for when I'm struttin', whether it be at the mall, BassProShops, on the boulevard, etc.
"Onward and Upward"...Trio, of course.
"Garryowen" (THE correct spelling.) since I'm a former (Armored) Cavalry Officer
"Panzerlied" Same reason 'cept for "PanzerOffizier" instead of the above.
"The Mad Major"...self-explanatory
There are others but these get the most "mind play" and muted whistling.
"Trumpeter!"...."Sir!"...."Sound the Charge!"
L6
Drive the saber to the hilt for Garryowen.
