The previous "announcement" was more of a rumor. Since the California HS Band Director made this announcement, it seems that is PROBABLY where it will happen. When it has been made official, there are at least two NCBA board member who frequent this board and will make the announcement.tooweird wrote:one second i hear dublin and then california. which one is it?

I received an email this morning from the NCBA President that it will be at California High School.

Dublin wasn't a rumor... when you have the VP of parade and field giving the info... but it's all good! I am pretty sure that Cal's field will be super nice! Whoot!

The field looks good enough to eat! Okay, maybe not. If it was covered in Chocolate then...
There doesn't seem to be a lot of parking, but the picture looks a little cut off.
I am really happy that they finally set something in stone. AND that we have a fall championship show!

Re: NCBA Championships to be Hosted by California High School
Hello everyone. As a Cal High alum of both the school and marching band, I figure I might as well pitch in my two cents with information as to parking and the stadium.
Cal High has always been known to have cramped parking lots, because of a large campus on a tight lot. The back/main parking lot has roughly 250-300 spots, plus there are a couple of auxiliary and side lots branching from the main parking lot.. The street that borders up with the high school there is free parking on the side that borders up with the high school, the other side is permit parking only. And don't take my word on this, but all the other lots are probably going to be used either as bus parking or band staging/practice areas.
Since the high school is located in a residential area, there is a lot of permit parking which only allows certain times to park there. There are several permit spots closer to campus which are 7AM-7PM (7 Days a Week) spots. I know the street behind the school, and side streets off of the main road and streets that are on blocks adjacent to the school have 7AM-4PM parking but only goes from Monday to Friday. But for those of you that park in permit spots, check for times and whatnot, because if it's one thing San Ramon Police have a lot of, it's the time to give innocent marching band a color guard people parking tickets.
As far as the stadium goes, for those of you that have been to Foothill High School (Pleasanton, CA), it's almost the same style of stadium. 1 tier of bleachers, spanning from one 10 yard line to the other on the home side, and from the 25 to the 25 on the visitor's. Which isn't bad in the late afternoon and early evening, but when it gets late, oh boy does it pack. The field is artificial turf, with those lovely little black rubber pellets. The hash marks and side line marks are fairly easy to see on a typical day or night.
Anyways, that's my two cents.
